IKEA And Asus Have Launched A New Line Of Gaming Furniture

IKEA and Asus, under their Republic of Gamers brand, have come together to release a new line of affordable gaming furniture. Their collective goal is to be able to provide affordable furniture for all gamers.

IKEA are one of the leading companies in the furniture market with over 400 stores across the globe. The Swedish giants specialise in manufacturing and supplying ready-to-assemble furniture and homeware.

Asus’s Republic of Gamers brand is one of the most popular brands in the gaming industry, designing and creating top-level gear for gamers. Through collaborating with Republic of Gamers, and combining the companies’ knowledge and experience in the furniture and gaming markets, IKEA are hoping to release a range of affordable products to take gaming to a new level.

The gaming line includes a wide variety of furniture consisting of about 30 products: desks, chairs, drawer units and more. Each product has carefully been designed to bring the comfort of gaming at home to a new level.

The products have been developed at the IKEA product development centre, based in Shanghai, China. To create the best possible gaming furniture, IKEA and Republic of Gamers’ designers and engineers hosted multiple workshops with professional and passionate gamers to highlight the key needs and functions for the most comfortable gaming experience at home.

One key factor that IKEA have identified is that current gaming furniture available in the market is very ‘masculine’. However, with 46% of gamers being female, IKEA are set to democratise gaming with their new line of products.

The IKEA and Asus gaming furniture launched in China at the beginning of February 2021. The line of products are set to be released across the globe by the end of October 2021.
